What can we give that people really need? This is a question often heard at the Old Brewery Mission. This year, personal hygiene products are at the top of the list, followed by other items that will help make it easier for homeless people to get through the winter.

Please donate clothing for both men and women:

  • Deodorant, shampoo and shower gel (travel size)
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste (travel size)
  • Underwear
  • Winter gloves
  • Warm socks (no knitted socks)
  • Pyjamas, leggings and stretch pants (for women)
  • Cotton fleece tops (for women)
  • Winter boots and coats (L/XL/XXL and PLUS sizes) (for men and women)
  • Bus and metro tickets (STM)
  • Laundry detergent (pods)

Special request from our food service manager: maple syrup for holiday meals!

The Old Brewery Mission asks the public to limit physical donations to this list during the winter season. It is also recommended that donated items be labeled to indicate the nature of the gift or, in the case of multiple gifts, that a list of what is in the box or bag be provided so that the contents can be easily forwarded to the appropriate department.

To make an in-kind donation, please contact Christopher Quinn, Director of Support Services at or 514-798-2244, ext. 291. If there is no answer, please leave a message. We will call you back as soon as possible.

Donations can be dropped off day or night at the reception desk at 915 Clark Street.

Donors are asked to follow sanitary protocols for the protection of staff and clients.
