Daniel, a veteran in Montreal, seeks help from the Old Brewery Mission to rebuild his new life as a civilian.
The Old Brewery Mission will be holding a press conference on Friday, November 10 to officially launch The Sentinels of the Street, a new pilot-project in partnership with the Fondation Québécoise des Vétérans and the federal government, to house homeless veterans in Montreal.
The first of its kind in Quebec, this project is specially designed to provide affordable, permanent housing solutions and ongoing psychosocial support to veterans in need.
According to the last point-in-time count in 2015, veterans account for 6% of Montreal’s homeless.
In 2017, 45 homeless veterans in Montreal relied on the Old Brewery Mission for survival.
Find out more about The Sentinels of the Street this Friday and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date with what’s new at the Mission.
